Work, day 33

So my equation parser now seems to work very well. The extraction of parts seems to work in almost all cases. It’s now just a matter of getting it to correctly interpret signs, which is actually really annoting (the extractor is already at over 3000 lines, and that’s just the part that extracts… not the classifier or preprocessing for extraction or tagging for extraction).
Also got systems parsing (i.e. You work at a job that makes $5/hour and you would get a bonus of $200. You could get a new job that makes $7/hour.) working relatively well. It was annoying getting it to work correctly with years (things like “In 1916, there were…”).
Overall though, I’m happy with my parser.

Passed two more 10-rating songs in ITG today-Hispanic Panic with a B and Bend Your Mind with a B-. I actually really like Bend Your Mind… the steps it in seem completely random and stuff, but it has hands (which I love), and it has amazingly fun (but difficult) crossover holds. Wheeee.
Also came close to an S+ in Land of the Rising Sun (93.39%).

Currently at Alan and Shawn’s house watching movies. Tomorrow is stuff with Tim at his apartment. Sunday is Yearbook proofing. The following week is my last week of work. Time is really flying by…

Ben playing doubles:

You meet the most awesome people playing ITG… this makes three people now I’ve met through ITG.
Whee!

Whee

At Dan’s house playing/watching games. Wheee. Sooo many consoles!

Played yet more ITG today. Passed another 10-rating song: Twilight with a C. I *never* want to play that song again… the beginning part is way too off the beat.
But meh, that makes nine.

Nothing much else to write about, really. Work is boring now that I’m just working on optimizing the parser on individual problems. I really should be trying to get it to work for systems problems. I should probably start on that tomorrow. Meh.

As for today’s picture…

Yes, that is Less Than Three for ITG. I got the stepfile today from one of Dan’s friends.
The best part… there’s rumors that it will be a song in ITG3.

:D :D :D

ITG

A can of apple-favored water that mklipper had yesterday. Whee.

Played (a lot) more ITG today with 8. Passed my sixth 10-rating song: D-Code. Also came close to an S+ on Land of the Rising Sun (about 0.3% off). Whee. Still need to work a lot on my accuracy.

Also played a lot of Stepmania today. Downloaded an ITG skin for it, so now it’s more fun and whee.

Um… yeah. Why is it so cold in the cluster? Meh. I’m freezing.
I also havn’t eaten yet today. It’s now 6:45. Hmm. I should probably eat something soon.

I’m seriously considering spending the night in the cluster again, but that’s probably a bad idea, given that I have work tomorrow at 7:30.

No one gave me hugs yesterday :(

I have been so horribly unproductive this entire summer (outside of work). I don’t even remember what my goals for this summer were. Meh.
I’m sooo lazzzyyyy…

Edit: Passed two more 10-rating songs: Hand of Time and Queen of Light (both with Bs).
Wheee.
That makes eight 10-rating songs passed (all with C+ or better).

Tiiimmmeee

Where does the time go? It’s already 10:30. I should shower and sleep soon, especially since I think I’m coming down with something (sore throat, trouble breathing, cough… bleh).

Work today was kinda bleh. I feel so behind… I can’t work on formula extraction until I finish formula classification… and formula classification currently has a success rate of 74% for non-standard problems (99.2% if you include standard problems). I need to get that up above 80% before I’m comfortable going to extraction.
After that is working well enough, I need to tackle the issue of systems problems as well (for which equation extraction will be a horrible mess of painful death).
My mentor is so amazingly understanding…

I had another weird dream last night. I was in a video game, and there were a bunch of different quests I had to undertake to complete it and save my friends and family.
The only one I remember, unfortunately, was me noticing a bunch of gold and jewels (the game’s “collectable items”) under some crates, and trying to jump in such a way that I would slide in and touch it (picking it up; my character apparently is thinner while jumping or something). I finally consulted the hint system, which led me to a nearby computer station with a guy who introduced himself. He said that that terminal controlled the invisible radio waves in the air that could blow up the crates. I did so and collected the treasure.

There was more stuff involving sliding down broken railings over pits of lava and jumping over electrified metal shard boxes, but I don’t really remember that part.

My first S (even if it was just an S-) from this weekend.
(The left is 8… he’s too good -_-)
