Wisdom teeth’d!

I got my wisdom teeth out this morning. It was very quick and painless.
The two bottom ones were basically growing perfectly horizontal in my mouth, and so the part that was poking out of the gum that I was “chewing” with was actually the side of the tooth. The top two weren’t much better (growing straight, at least, but still really badly impacting the rest of my teeth). So meh, I had to get all four of them out.

They took me back into a room and had me lay down on the chair. The nurse put a pressure cuff (what are those called?) around my left arm and a heart monitor on my finger. The anesthesiologist tied a band around my upper right arm and told me he was going to prick me. The last things I really remember were him saying that he was impressed that I didn’t even flinch, and then feeling my right arm go cold inside, as if there was ice flowing through it or something.
The next thing I knew, I was opening my eyes, sitting in a totally different barren room across from my dad, with a weird taste in my mouth and an ace banadage wrapped around my head (and wearing my jacket again… weird). I made a “Mrrr” sound and my dad called the nurse, who helped me walk to the car and home.
Then I basically slept for 6 hours, taking painkillers and vitamin C. For some reason, drinking cold things (water or carrot juice) makes the area hurt, so I have to wait for everything to warm up first. Also, there is gauze in my mouth that gets changed every hour or so… it’s almost stopped bleeding at this point, so that’s good at least. Gauze tastes so gross. Also, there is still an ace banadage around my head that makes it hard to scratch itches.
Swallowing pills (the painkillers, vitamin C, and antibiotics) is so much harder this way XD

The surgeon gave me my teeth to take home with me.

My mom says the surgeon says that two of them came out whole, but they had to split two of them to get them out… which is why there are so many tooth pieces in the bag.

Also, WTF, someone sent me a 20MB email. I am on dialup. This makes me very, very unhappy.
*sighs*

Grades came out today. I managed to pull off straight A’s again. I suppose I’m not surprised now, given that I was expecting A’s in both networks and webapps, but I’m still amazed I managed to get A’s in graph theory and portrait.

I haven’t seen anyone since I’ve been back. This makes me sad.
People should poke me to do stuff while I’m still here.

Door!

We got our old sliding door replaced today.

Whee.

Found out my webapps grade from Blackboard. Got a 95% on the final for a 98.3% overall class average. Wheee. That means I get Dean’s List again. Now I’m just waiting on my networks grade.

Yeah, that’s about it.

Wisdom teeth come out tomorrow morning. Kinda nervous… :-\

Back in Arizona

As the post title says, I’m back in Arizona for a week and a half. Wheeee.

Photos from various events (Alisa’s movie night, Networks review session, matthewj portraits, and last night’s game night) have been uploaded to Photos.

Q: How did I miss this picture yesterday? BAM!

A: I just don’t know!

Yay for games!

Yeah, that’s basically it :-P
I’m already homesick. Can’t wait until I head back.

Also, dialup sucks.

Games and foo

Tonight was Top Secret Video Game Party X and it was awesome.

The past few days have been filled with general happiness and movingness and spending with with peopleness, and have just been amazing and perfect. I’m really wishing I didn’t have to go away for a little while.

In about 11 hours I will be on a plane heading back to Phoenix, where I shall remain for a week and a half before coming back here for my summer job. Wheee. Unfortunately, I will be getting my wisdom teeth out on Friday, so that will be an adventure. Blah.

Not particularly much else to comment on. There will be a full photo gallery of images from this and the Networks study sessions eventually at photos, but not now since it is 2:30 and I should sleep.

Finals #2 and #3 done

This morning was my webapps final. It went as expected, which is to say, well. 5 essay questions, all fairly easy… yay.

This evening was my networks final. It was longer than expected (43 short-answer questions, many with multiple parts), and a couple of the topics should probably have been reviewed more thoroughly, but I feel like I did well enough.

Afterwards was KFC, games, and moving stuff to the new room. That was lots of fun.

After that was some really nice conversation and generally spending time with personness of awesome, and was a very nice end to a generally nice (if a little stressful) day.

Then came home to find that three of my five grades are now up and, barring any unforeseen unfortunateness with webapps (which should definetly be an A), I am guaranteed Dean’s List for the fourth semester in a row, regardless of whether I get an A or a B in networks. This makes me happy because I did unexpectedly well in both graph theory and portrait photo (pulling each up more than a letter grade from midsemester).

So yeah, I’m now done with finals, and can relax and start moving into the new room. No stress for another couple weeks, huzzah!

It is 4 AM. I should be asleep.
