More PSO

I’ve been playing too much PSO lately. This is probably a bad thing.
:-\
Both of my characters are around level 59 now (I believe 57 and 59). I’m starting to make a network of online friends who I can play with (in addition to some of the old crew from LPSO, now iE). Can’t wait to get to level 80 so I can do ultimate mode with friends. The idea of ultimate control tower scares me since we have so much trouble with the area in normal mode, hard mode is damn near impossible, and vhard is basically undoable until we’re much stronger.
The entire thing that was putting me off of the game (everyone else having awesome rares and me not having any) has mostly gone away thanks to both rare items starting to appear and the generosity of friends (who have given me a God/Arm, Inferno Bazooka, and Meteor Smash). Still, it seems I have terrible luck obtaining rare items in the game, and that makes me kinda sad.

Also, my emotions have been all off since returning from Pittsburgh. Sometimes it feels like it was a mistake to leave, since the awesomeness of my job here doesn’t outweigh the awesomeness of other things and/or certain people that are still in Pittsburgh (and will be for several years). Meh. I love my job and I love this city, I just wish it wouldn’t hurt so much to be so far away.

Life goes on, I suppose.

PSO Blue Burst

(Click the images, they get bigger).

Well, I saw my first rare enemy in PSOBB today: A Del Rappy.

Unfortunately, we killed it but we were all hit/frozen by the Merissa A such that we couldn’t hit it when it woke up… so no rare for us :(

In other news, holy crap episode 4 is pretty, but with huge monsters like Goran Detonator who will teleport around and hit you from literally across the room (a large Caves-sized room for those people who have only played ep 1), it’s hard as hell.

Also, this thing is insane. Also, you fight it in a room with wind that blows you around and oftentimes prevents you from walking where you want.

Didn’t even try the ep4 boss(es). Figured we had no chance to survive (make our time).

I love how I originally wanted to get into PSOBB just to take screenshots for the RPG Get! TCG but I’m becoming just as obsessed with it as I was back in middle school (with v1 on the Dreamcast). Online multiplayer PS goodness FTW.

Randomness

I wonder how many people remember the “I want a standing ovation” thing from freshman orientation. Meh.
I was browsing through photos for Student Wars and came across some orientation pictures, and it reminded me of that.
In any case, Loose Ends is slightly more than half done. If I’m not lazy this upcoming weekend, I can probably have it out by Monday… not that anyone really cares anyway.

The flight yesterday was mostly uneventful. There was an interesting kid behind me in line at the security checkpoint, but I’ve already written about this in my LJ, and I don’t really want to repost it here.

Super-special bonux thank you points go to Klipper for picking me up from the airport yesterday. Really, you made things a lot easier for me, and made it so I had time to do cluster games and everything. Thanks :D

Alan playing Starcraft.

According to Facebook, I now know 6 Alans (besides myself; plus one Allan). Interesting, especially given that 4 of them have been in this past year.

Tonight should be good. In fact, most of today should be good if I manage to actually contact all the people I’ve been wanting to contact and who have been wanting to contact me.

Back in Arizona

As the post title says, I’m back in Arizona for a week and a half. Wheeee.

Photos from various events (Alisa’s movie night, Networks review session, matthewj portraits, and last night’s game night) have been uploaded to Photos.

Q: How did I miss this picture yesterday? BAM!

A: I just don’t know!

Yay for games!

Yeah, that’s basically it :-P
I’m already homesick. Can’t wait until I head back.

Also, dialup sucks.

Games and foo

Tonight was Top Secret Video Game Party X and it was awesome.

The past few days have been filled with general happiness and movingness and spending with with peopleness, and have just been amazing and perfect. I’m really wishing I didn’t have to go away for a little while.

In about 11 hours I will be on a plane heading back to Phoenix, where I shall remain for a week and a half before coming back here for my summer job. Wheee. Unfortunately, I will be getting my wisdom teeth out on Friday, so that will be an adventure. Blah.

Not particularly much else to comment on. There will be a full photo gallery of images from this and the Networks study sessions eventually at photos, but not now since it is 2:30 and I should sleep.
