Last night was one of my best KoL nights ever. Was able to get from the airship all the way to ascending in one day. Granted, I started the day with 170 adventures, and got an extra ~75 from my pasta dishes, but still… I had amazing airship luck. Used my spooky fairy, and got all the drops I needed along the way to getting the 4 immateria and S.O.C.K. Had good luck in the castle… got enough muscle non-combats to gain 4 muscle stats while getting all the drops needed while turning the wheel to get the egg. Got slightly screwed in the hole when it took a while for the third star chart to drop (ended up with something like twice as many stars and lines as I needed), but that’s ok. My chef-in-a-box exploded just after I made my last necessary potion (yay for weird food!). Had to go back to the valley to get ‘n’s, but it only took 10 adventures to get the two I needed. Sorceress went down first try (yay thrust-smack!). Woot.

Today Vicki and David came over and we played Risk. It is incredibly scary to see an army of ~12 cannons (120+ units) marching across North America and Asia… especially when you’re the one trying to hold Asia. Oh well. Was a good game though. I don’t know if I like this style of playing (draw a card every time you conquer a country; trade in at any time during your turn; redeployment phase limited to one country’s troops across one border) or the style I played at CMU (draw one card at the end of your turn if you attacked at all; trade in at the beginning of your turn; unlimited redeployment of all troops across any distance). This style lets the game turn around really quickly… all you have to do is conquer a bunch of small countries (easy in Asia, where borders are drawn weird) and trade in to get huge armies… Vicki basically conquered the other half of Europe, North America, and Asia (or would have if I hadn’t surrendered) in one turn since she kept on getting cards and trading in. She ran out of yellow troops and had to start using green. Meh.
Oh yes, and I still get horrible defense rolls. Bleh.

I think it’s going to be my goal to post one picture in every post from now on. Not necessarily a photo… but at least some kind of image (just because I’ve been doing it lately, and it adds something to posts besides boring text).

Also adding a new page to archive all the used photos, I guess. Whee.

What else… um… graduation last night was fun, but I already wrote about that. Photos are up. You should go look at them.

Fixed my forums after they’d been dead for a couple months. Not that anyone cares, since no one ever uses them anymore. Had to actually go in and hack the database since the upgrade somehow screwed up and didn’t upgrade the tables properly (and screwed up the theme I was using). Then had to hack at the script itself a bit too. Meh. At least it works now.

Props to anyone who can identify all the “This is a title” post title languages over the past few days. I’ve just been using online translation sites. Whee. Also props to people who give me good suggestions for post titles.

Graduation

Yeah, so today was graduation for the last group of people that I really knew in high school. Went with Akshat and Amanda… got dinner first and coffee afterwards. Got lots of good pictures. Was lots of fun. Whee.

I am too damn light. I think I got picked up by 4 people today. What is it with people and picking me up? :-P

Meh, it still irks me that this year’s PPA graduates got white chords (as you can see) and special mention in the graduation booklet… and they had their own valedictorian who got to give a speech. Last year’s PPA graduates got white tassels for their caps. My year? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. I didn’t even graduate with honors because I “wasn’t ranked.” If I had been ranked, I would have been valedictorian. But nooo, we weren’t good enough, so we got *nothing*.

A very happy birthday to 8. Because he posted to LJ, and I checked LJ right before making this post, so it’s in my mind.

Um… what else what else… The card list for Student Wars: Booooth is done (more or less). Gonna tweak it a little tonight (add in some of the people I got pictures of tonight), and then it should be good.

Well, Student Wars: Hijinks is done. I think the cutest card has to be Everett and Tyler. Whee. Was tempted to introduce a new trait “Kawaii” for them, but didn’t want to go through and do all the same stuff that I had to do with “Efficient”, so they fail.

Um… last night was lots of fun. Ended up going to Fiddlesticks instead, and they had unlimited arcade games and miniature golf for $10. They had a DDR machine and an ITG machine. I was in heaven. Well, at least at first. After 12 rounds (36 songs), my feet were pretty sad. Was fun though.

Tomorrow is graduation. Congrats to the class of ’06. Going to go with Amanda and foo. Yay for graduation funness.

So yeah. People should do stuff with me! I am bored out of my mind all day and I’ll only be here for another 1.5 weeks. Call me, dammit!

So yeah, wow, things have actually gotten done.

As per mrwright’s suggestion, I’ve modified WordPress to add a comments link to the feed, so all LJ entries *should* now have the appropriate comment link. Hope it works… but we won’t know until it refreshes the feed.

Got more Student Wars done last night. The Hijinks expansion is nearing completion. I’m excited to start work on the next expansion… tons of cards of people whom havn’t had cards before. Should be fun to make. I think I’ll be dumping the quotes on the cards though, since those are too much work.
People should play it. Please?

Also did a lot of work on the Outreach website last night. The main layout and stuff are mostly done, just waiting on more photos and more content.

Spent a lot of today with Ty. Went to lunch at the place that replaced Rice Box. The new place looks very nice inside, and the food is decent, but meh. Then drove around and watched some Mr. Bean and foo. But meh, it was the first time I’ve really spent time with someone since I got back, so it was nice.

I should try and get Student Wars done (or mostly done) tonight… depends on my mood though. I’ve slowed down at making cards. Bleh.

Oh yeah, and my webhost just upgraded all plans, so now I have 1.2GB of space to play with, meaning I now have over 700MB of free space. Yay space? I have more bandwidth too, but no one cares about that since I never come close to the cap.

Um… yeah. I’m actually getting some work done on the outreach website, amazingly. Also, everyone’s still too busy for me. I want to see people, dammit.

Played some DDR today. Soft mats suck. Want to play in the arcade or on 8’s hard mats when I get back to CMU. Meh, yet another reason I want to go back.
