Moar PSO

Had an amazingly amazing run today.
Did a run of SS, saw Hildeblue x 2 and got Hildeblue Head x 2… but, even more surprising, also receieved Hildebear Head x 2.

Pix or it didn’t happen:

Also, my Fomar can now use his Striker of Chao. That (2x Shifta/Deband range) plus the Shifta Merge (2x Shifta range) plus the Fomar’s built-in bonus (2x Shifta/Deband range) makes Shifta do this:

Amazing :D
And that’s with only Shifta level 14. Can’t wait to see what happens once I get to Shifta 30.

The weapon is also generally cute. It’s an angry chao on a stick! :D

It makes cute chao noises when you attack with it too.

The universe must have a balance or something because this game session came right after I got extremely pissed off (at this, if anyone cares… ugh I hate fundies so much) and needed to vent some aggression against cute little Rag Rappies. It made me feel so much better, in particular because the first red box I ever saw in PSO BB was a Hildebear Head that the Ramar I was playing with took (I was playing with my Fomar back when he was level 25 or so) “for his other character.” I think that event put me off Forces for a while (hence why my Ramar got so far ahead in terms of levels). At least now I have friends I trust to play with (who have all been amazing and helped level my forces).

Hello World

I don’t write on here very often anymore, do I?

Well, I’m still alive. Life has been full of work and PSO and late night phone conversations, so life has been full of awesome.

Unfortunately, life has also had looking-for-apartment annoyances, but meh.

Today’s moment of awesome was discovering a quest on the PSO server where you’re guaranteed to see a Hildeblue (a rare enemy) every run. On our first run, we saw two (one was the actual rare enemy random occurrence and one was the scripted one) resulting in two Kaladgolgs. I did it again by myself and ended up with a Hildeblue Head (which will be a Hildeblue cane for my Fomar as soon as I complete the requisite quests).
First time ever seeing a Hildeblue in all my PSO (and I’ve played a *lot* of PSO) including all my DC and GC characters and I see three in the same day (although only one was actually the rare enemy). Now the only rare enemies I have left to see are a Poulilly Slime, Hildetorr (which I can see in the same manner as the Hildeblue if I can ever do Forest on ult), and a Dorphon Eclair (which apparently casts grants and so scares me a bit).

Fun.

More PSO

I’ve been playing too much PSO lately. This is probably a bad thing.
:-\
Both of my characters are around level 59 now (I believe 57 and 59). I’m starting to make a network of online friends who I can play with (in addition to some of the old crew from LPSO, now iE). Can’t wait to get to level 80 so I can do ultimate mode with friends. The idea of ultimate control tower scares me since we have so much trouble with the area in normal mode, hard mode is damn near impossible, and vhard is basically undoable until we’re much stronger.
The entire thing that was putting me off of the game (everyone else having awesome rares and me not having any) has mostly gone away thanks to both rare items starting to appear and the generosity of friends (who have given me a God/Arm, Inferno Bazooka, and Meteor Smash). Still, it seems I have terrible luck obtaining rare items in the game, and that makes me kinda sad.

Also, my emotions have been all off since returning from Pittsburgh. Sometimes it feels like it was a mistake to leave, since the awesomeness of my job here doesn’t outweigh the awesomeness of other things and/or certain people that are still in Pittsburgh (and will be for several years). Meh. I love my job and I love this city, I just wish it wouldn’t hurt so much to be so far away.

Life goes on, I suppose.

Carnival

Well that was a crappy way to end an awesome few days.
Carnival was awesome, but more due to people than the actual Carnival proceedings. Watched lots of Buggy and Mobot (new records in both, an amazing 2:04:35 and 0:00:51 respectively), played ITG until my legs hurt and I had trouble walking up and down stairs, saw lots of people, dyed Zach’s hair, explored booths, had some funnel cake, played lots of board games, went to halfprice, shot portraits, had our (belated) first anniversary dinner, took almost 9 GB of photos, and generally had an amazing time.
Then last night the weather was crap. I was already feeling pretty unhappy to be leaving the next morning and then we had to walk back with two rather large bags in the pouring rain. Also, someone stole Greg’s umbrella from in the hallway, which is terrible. I also managed to break my glasses (not unfixably, but still…) and I didn’t get to see everyone I wanted to (had to bail on Owen because I was feeling so shitty… apologies; also didn’t see Ben at all). Meh. Now I’m sitting in the airport not wanting to leave.

Photos will be posted in Photos and Portraits later tonight once I get back.

Edit: Photos posted. Also, Zeke, it was 9 GB of JPEGs :) Yay photography!

PSO Blue Burst

(Click the images, they get bigger).

Well, I saw my first rare enemy in PSOBB today: A Del Rappy.

Unfortunately, we killed it but we were all hit/frozen by the Merissa A such that we couldn’t hit it when it woke up… so no rare for us :(

In other news, holy crap episode 4 is pretty, but with huge monsters like Goran Detonator who will teleport around and hit you from literally across the room (a large Caves-sized room for those people who have only played ep 1), it’s hard as hell.

Also, this thing is insane. Also, you fight it in a room with wind that blows you around and oftentimes prevents you from walking where you want.

Didn’t even try the ep4 boss(es). Figured we had no chance to survive (make our time).

I love how I originally wanted to get into PSOBB just to take screenshots for the RPG Get! TCG but I’m becoming just as obsessed with it as I was back in middle school (with v1 on the Dreamcast). Online multiplayer PS goodness FTW.
