Food/ITG

I made fresh garlic mashed redskin potatoes tonight. They were yummy. I put them over pasta, so they were kinda like inside-out perogies. Mmmmm.

In ITG news… passed Energizer Hard today (the 10-foot). Also came close to my first star… 95.88% on Pandemonium Medium. Set new personal records on Infection Hard (94.29%) and Utopia Hard (90.68%) as well. The other day, I also improved my score on Charlene Expert (up to a ~67.5%) and passed Driven (a marathon course). Yay for ITG funness. I’m also playing some doubles now, and I can pass 7s. Haven’t yet attempted an 8, because I’m still having trouble recognizing the patterns in the steps and locating myself on the two pads.

Today was the Fairfax BBQ, and there was lots of food and yummyness as well.

There are now pictures of me playing ITG, thanks to Ben.

So I’ve been avoiding large groups of people lately, and it’s working out well. I’m just so much happier when it’s just me and one other person, or a couple other people. I dunno… it’s kinda a complete change from where I was (used to seek out huge groups on purpose), but I kinda like it better this way. I’m never invited to events and foo anyway, and no one tells me about parties that are happening, so meh.

Got my graphics homework mostly done. I was getting hung up on the stupidest thing… apparently OpenGL processes transformation commands backwards, since it sticks them on a stack and pulls them out. I spent the longest time figuring out why my “translate to (0,0) and then rotate” wasn’t working properly. Reversed the order of all my function calls, and everything worked perfectly. Bleh.

POTATO

It’s the weirdest thing… I’ve been feeling really antisocial lately, at least in groups consisting of more than 2 other people. I spent some time in the cluster today doing homework and I just felt incredibly uncomfortable the entire time. I went to Alan’s birthday celebration foo thing last night, and felt uncomfortable most of the time. I decided to avoid KGB today because I don’t want to be around groups of people. I keep having to leave for (short) periods of time when playing games with Apphia/Tim/Ian/Dan/people. I went to play ITG today and almost didn’t because there were other people in Scotland Yard. Meh. Whatever.

POTATO!

Updates

Meh, using the same post title for every entry is good in that I don’t have to think very hard, but I imagine it’ll make posts hard to find in the future. Then again, my titles are never very descriptive anyway, so what does it matter?

This weekend has been full of homework. Like, omg, I didn’t know I could have so much homework… and it’s only the first week. Slowly working away at them… I need to start the graphics assignment today and go to office hours for algo tomorrow. Still need to finish numerical methods (which was supposed to be the easiest one…) and algo. Also, once my film arrives, I need to shoot a couple rolls in varying light to see how colors change.

Went to see SoaP yesterday with Everett. Surprisingly, it wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be. In fact, if it wasn’t for the name, I’d be temped to call it a decent movie.
Now they just need the trilogy… BoaT (Bears on a Train) and HoaC (Hamsters on a Car)… despite the fact that the last one doesn’t make a word, and that they’d have to be rabid hamsters.

Bagelfish sandwich! :D

Last night was lots of puyo fun with people, pizza, and brownies. Then I felt antisocial and came and holled myself up in my room with algo.

Whee life is good :)

OMG Full

Today was Klipper’s birthday. We all went to a Brazillian steakhouse of yummyness. By far the most expensive meal I’ve had in Pittsburgh, but OMG worth it… As usual, I overstuffed myself (I don’t ever seem to get full *while* I’m eating), so I’m sitting here now not really wanting to move and feeling like I need to burp but being unable to (since I’m full of meat, not gas). Wheee.

But oh god it was so good.

Um, yeah.
Played more ITG today (unsurprisingly).
Wheeeeeee.

I’m surprised that none of the ITG-playing people who read this pointed out that the screenshot I posted last night looks strange.
Major props to the first person who says why and explains away the inconsistency (the screenshot has not been altered in any way except for resizing) keeping in mind that the screen was taken in Stepmania.

Spending PlaidCa$h…

Um yeah, so I’ve spent around $240 in the past 5 hours, but don’t worry, it wasn’t my money. I had around $470 in PlaidCa$h earlier today, so tonight I decided to splurge. Went to Joe Mamas, bought pies and goodies at Eat n’ Park, bought drinks at Starbucks, and went to Murray Avenue Grill (the most expensive place that took the money) for dinner. Had their Seared Ahi Tuna Steak (the third most expensive thing on their menu, after the beef steaks and ribs). Oh god… it was so yummy. Ahhhh. I definetly want to go back sometime.

So this is what it’s like to be rich. Heh… I guess I’m glad then that I’m poor, because I’ve eaten wayyyy too much today.

Work today went well. Decided to ignore the inaccuracies of classification for now and start on extraction. Spent about 3 hours in the morning figuring out how the hell to parse points out of a word problem (i.e. “The candle was 5 inches long after having burned for 2 minutes. After 8 minutes, it was 3 inches long.” contains the points [5,2] and [3,8]). After that was figured out, extracting the equation for two-points problems was relatively straightforward. Extracting from standard then took me the afternoon (had to figure out how to extract an explicit slope i.e. “He drove 40 miles an hour and has already driven 20 miles” has the slope 40). So yeah, extraction for *most* of standard and for *most* of two-points now works. Yayyy!
Two down, 7 (harder ones) to go…

I think I’m getting sick. My throat hurts. That’s not good.
*drinks yummy Starbucks passion iced tea to soothe throat*
*eats fried tortilla chips to irritate throat*
*starts on my second blackberry pie*
Wheeee.

Carla is in the cubicle next to me at work. She is off this week on vacation.

I had nothing to do with this. At all. Yeah.

Took some artistic shots today downtown, but I’m too lazy to photoshop them and foo, so you lose.

The current condition of the world (N. Korea, the Middle East, etc) should worry me more than it does… meh. I remain relatively blissfully unaware of stuff… all I know is they have missles and the area is exploding (respectively to the two).
Meh.
I’m glad I don’t watch TV or read news sites or newspapers.
