Back in Arizona

As the post title says, I’m back in Arizona for a week and a half. Wheeee.

Photos from various events (Alisa’s movie night, Networks review session, matthewj portraits, and last night’s game night) have been uploaded to Photos.

Q: How did I miss this picture yesterday? BAM!

A: I just don’t know!

Yay for games!

Yeah, that’s basically it :-P
I’m already homesick. Can’t wait until I head back.

Also, dialup sucks.

Games and foo

Tonight was Top Secret Video Game Party X and it was awesome.

The past few days have been filled with general happiness and movingness and spending with with peopleness, and have just been amazing and perfect. I’m really wishing I didn’t have to go away for a little while.

In about 11 hours I will be on a plane heading back to Phoenix, where I shall remain for a week and a half before coming back here for my summer job. Wheee. Unfortunately, I will be getting my wisdom teeth out on Friday, so that will be an adventure. Blah.

Not particularly much else to comment on. There will be a full photo gallery of images from this and the Networks study sessions eventually at photos, but not now since it is 2:30 and I should sleep.

Finals #2 and #3 done

This morning was my webapps final. It went as expected, which is to say, well. 5 essay questions, all fairly easy… yay.

This evening was my networks final. It was longer than expected (43 short-answer questions, many with multiple parts), and a couple of the topics should probably have been reviewed more thoroughly, but I feel like I did well enough.

Afterwards was KFC, games, and moving stuff to the new room. That was lots of fun.

After that was some really nice conversation and generally spending time with personness of awesome, and was a very nice end to a generally nice (if a little stressful) day.

Then came home to find that three of my five grades are now up and, barring any unforeseen unfortunateness with webapps (which should definetly be an A), I am guaranteed Dean’s List for the fourth semester in a row, regardless of whether I get an A or a B in networks. This makes me happy because I did unexpectedly well in both graph theory and portrait photo (pulling each up more than a letter grade from midsemester).

So yeah, I’m now done with finals, and can relax and start moving into the new room. No stress for another couple weeks, huzzah!

It is 4 AM. I should be asleep.

Final #1 done

Well then, I just totally bombed the graph theory final. I’ll be lucky to get 50% on the proofs portion, given that I didn’t do one of the four and completely BSed two of the other three.
Here’s hoping that the fact that most of the class was still in the room 15 minutes after the official end time means there will be a curve. A huge curve.
:(
*sighs*
I bet that once someone points out some little fact to me (about each proof), all the proofs will become painfully obvious and I’ll feel even more stupid that I do now.
I hate my inability to have the “aha moment” in proofs… at least, not quickly enough for an exam format.

This morning was the portrait photo final crit. I can’t tell if he hated my stuff or not, but meh, I have no chance at an A in the class anyway. Here’s hoping I don’t get a C (in either portrait or graph theory).
I hate portrait class so much :-\

Furniture

I went on a buying spree today and bought stuff for the apartment this summer/next year.
First was a rather nice box with ceramic dinner plates and bowls, glass cups, silverware, 4 or 5 nice knives, a dish rack, a shower caddy thing, a CD holder, 2 rugs, a mug, a whisk, some can openers, some spatulas, and other assorted kitchenwares… all for $10. Then they threw in a toaster for free. Woo.
Then, this afternoon, I went to buy a chest of drawers for $10. Unfortunately, I didn’t consider the weight of said dresser and Ian and I got it about 50 feet before I had to call for help. After trying just about everyone on my contacts list, Ben helped carry it and Lilli graciously brought her car to drive it back. So yeah, now I have a very nice chest of drawers that I’ll probably also use as a desk. I think that’s basically everything I need for next year as far as furniture goes, so yay. Also, yay for cell phones coming in handy.

Yesterday was a lot of random happy stuff for the last day of classes. There was CS volleyball, ECE day with its random stuff, and also the Fiesta de Primavera complete with climbing stuff and a petting zoo. There was also a KGB picnic. Whee. Photos of all of these are up at photos.
