Finals #1 and #2 done

213 was yesterday. At first, looking through it, my thought was “OMFG I’m going to fail.” Then I actually started working through the problems, and you know what, they were all doable. The exam itself was nothing like any of the practice exams I looked over (which is probably why it scared me at first glance), but everything on there was reasonable and doable if you understood the material. I feel good about it.

Then today was combinatorics exam. I went into it feeling generally doomed. Then we got the exam. I looked over it. First problem… oh, it’s just combinatorical proofs of two identities. Easy. Second problem… one of the nice probabilistic method proofs Easy. Third problem… a bunch of true/false with justifications… relatively easy. Last problem… two of these five proofs… oh, one is just inclusion/exclusion, and one is just marriage theorem… easy!
I finished in about 50 minutes, double checked all my work twice (took about another 30), and came out feeling quite confident in my answers.

So yeah, my first two finals went quite well.

Tonight is the 312 final. That should be scary. Hopefully I’ll do okay on it though. I feel like I know the material relatively well, I just may have some trouble applying it.

Whee. After tonight, I should be stress-free until next Monday. Not too worried about 18100 exam, and now that my ‘A’s in 213 and 21301 have been relatively assured, I don’t need to really worry about 80180 either.
