Apples and SF

I am currently in San Francisco. If you want to do things with me, you should poke me soon, as I fly out on Saturday.

But that’s not what I want to talk about here. What I want to talk about here is apple picking this past Saturday with Ben, Simiao, and Greg at Simmons Farm (argh blargh where is the apostrophe?) followed by awesome dinner at Bado’s Cucina (yay apostrophe). And by “talk,” I mean “dump lots of photos of the awesomeness.”

Simmons Farm now has a $6-per-person-minimum for apple picking, which is crap. Perhaps that means I will not go next year. But it was good times anyway.

Yay apples. Yay friends. Yay happiness.

  1. As for the apostrophe issue, it’s possible that the farm’s founder was a Mr. Simmons, so there’s not one needed. Near me is a Rogers Orchard founded by the Rogers family, for instance. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with, say, Smith Farms or Mr. T Acres (as opposed to Smith’s Farms or Mr. T’s Acres), so I say it’s fine in its punctuationlessness.

  2. Unless they’re growing Simmons on their farm (I guess they could be if their name is Simmons), it should still be Simmons’ Farm. (Or Simmons’s Farm if you like that better.)

  3. That looks like such a lovely day! The picture with the chicken is my favorite, hands down.
