Ploo

Went to visit my dad in the hospital today. He seems to be doing well, I think. I honestly didn’t spend that much time in the room. Hospitals kinda give me the creeps.

Went to Gameworks with David today, and he won me a stuffed Shadow from the claw game. David rules. <3 Shadow. Also beat House of the Dead 4 with him. The final boss isn’t that hard… then again, we went through about $20 worth of points to beat the game (which, at Gameworks, isn’t really that much). Meh.

Apparently there’s some sort of terrorist thingy going on right now? My mom says they’re not allowing gels or liquids as carry-ons, but are allowing them in checked baggage, since they recieved a threat of a liquid bomb or something. Um… correct me if I’m wrong, but wouldn’t it be more prudent to disallow liquids in checked baggage? I mean, unless liquid bombs require human intervention to set off (I know nothing about them; they very well could), it would be better for a terrorist to stick one in baggage, check it, and then not get on the plane, no?
Meh.
This is why I don’t read newspapers or listen to the news anymore. The world is exploding.
Speaking of exploding, is there still stuff going on in Israel and Lebanon? I heard they were fighting each other or something. Blah.

Humans suck. Why can’t we all just get along? And why couldn’t the US just mind its own business instead of invading Iraq and Afghanistan and pissing off all the Muslims?

No picture. Still not in the mood for photography.

  1. unless liquid bombs require human intervention to set off

    Yes.

The thing about checked luggage is that it’s far easier for them to scan it and check things out, and they’d notice any sort of detonation device. Liquid explosives, failing a detonater, would require a human to set off the trigger.

::hopes she doesn’t get arrested by the FBI for looking up liquid explosives on Wikipedia::

Well, poking around, I don’t see how they’re detonated (funny, that…), but I assume it requires a match or an electric charge or something like that. No idea.

  2. the liquid bomb thing is that they had benign liquids and were going to combine them.
at least, this is the impression i got, and i’d been thinking about this years ago. :X

also, i have to fly on saturday. suckage.

  3. Last time I checked, humans were something like 80% fluid.

And I feel 100% confident that if we just stopped letting people bring humans on the plane, we would have no more terrorist threat.

(…that is, except for non-human terrorists. BEWARE THE PENGUINS…)
OK, Zeke, lay off with the posting on people’s blogs at midnight.

  4. The reason why they wouldn’t let liquids on carry-ons, is because of what ‘car’ said, in that they are benign liquids, that when mixed, can become highly explosive. Now, they won’t let any carry-ons onto airplanes, except for your passport, glasses, some other neccessities, or baby formula… but I think that’s it. The original plan if it had not been foiled, at least according to NBC, is that 10 planes were planned to be “detonated”…
    Scary, huh?

  5. Awww… I love your version of the news. Yeah, the liquid bomb scare began with a terrorist “threat” with specifics indicating that the bomb would be detenated in the passenger seating. Also, ‘manda and ‘car’ are right- you have to combine the liquids in order to set off the bomb. While American airports are disallowing almost all items on board flights, several airports around the world (especially those closer to east asia, where the threat occurred) have closed temporarily. Otherwise, yep yep, Israel’s still practicing Lebanese artificial selection, Muslims still refuse to cooperate with peace talks and Sunni terrorists are busy setting off the suicide bombs. But on the bright side, at least you can be invisible… so long as you have some ceran wrap. *sighs *
I hope you’re dad feels better soon.

  6. When the “US just minded its own business”
    9-11 occured.

That was not provoked by war, but by their general hatred for our lifestlye and religion.

If you don’t want any violence you can choose to enslave yourself to their doctrines. That’s the only thing that will stop their will to fight.

IMO, the US has done a lot of things wrong with the war, but don’t for one second be brainwashed into thinking that the Muslims will not hate us if we just “leave them alone” Terrorists love that backward thinking.

Simplistic thinking always leads to trouble.
