So yeah, I lost all faith in our student government earlier this year when they implemented a program that made Tartan bikes available to everyone… unlocked… on campus. Something like $15,000 was spent on this project.
\nLo and behold, guess what? Within a week, there were probably about 2 left. They were gone in another few days.
\nWhat. The. Hell.
\nGrab a bike, get to class<\/a><\/p>\n

So then there were student government elections. Or rather, there were supposed to be (the following links yoiked from jgraftor):
\nFirst there weren’t enough applicants, and can you really blame them given how little our government actually does (or even has the power to do), and the stuff they do is largely idiotic (see bike program above) or of little impact on campus?

Then the students weren’t even informed there were elections coming up:

Then the election software froze, causing elections to be postponed again:

I mean seriously, WTF?
\nIt is *not* that hard to do elections correctly. It’s not that hard to write election software that works. Correctly. I could probably write something (that looks better than what they have, as well) in something like 30 minutes.

\nMy project for webapps (CMU Adventures<\/a>) was chosen as a “best project” and I’ll get to demo it tomorrow during class.
