I&#8217;ll be in Pittsburgh April 10 through April 18.<\/p>\n<p>Last night was baking and Rock Band at Sharon&#8217;s. I tried making Elephant Ears using <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cooks.com\/rec\/view\/0,1810,154181-249194,00.html\">this recipe<\/a> and they turned out pretty awesome. I also made cinnamon cookies and they turned out pretty tasty (not greasy at all, because I didn&#8217;t use very much butter).<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Elephant Ears<\/p>\n<p>1\/4 c butter (actually more like 1\/8 is sufficient)<br \/>\n1 c flour<br \/>\n5 tbsp sugar<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp baking powder<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp salt<br \/>\n1\/3 c milk<br \/>\n1 tsp cinnamon<\/p>\n<p>Melt butter. Mix flour, 2 tbsp sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Stir in milk and 3 tbsp butter.<\/p>\n<p>Flour surface, knead dough a few times, then roll out. Brush with remaining butter and sprinkle with 3 tbsp sugar and cinnamon.<\/p>\n<p>Roll up dough, cut into four pieces, place onto cookie sheet (cut end up) and flatten into cookie-like shapes. Bake at 425 for 10 minutes.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/journal2.alanv.org\/images\/111409baking1.jpg\" \/><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/journal2.alanv.org\/images\/111409baking2.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/journal2.alanv.org\/images\/111409baking3.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Cinnamon cookies:<br \/>\n1 c sugar<br \/>\n1\/8 c butter<br \/>\n1 egg<br \/>\n1 1\/2 tsp vanilla<br \/>\n1 c flour<br \/>\n2 tsp cinnamon<br \/>\n1 tsp baking powder<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp salt<\/p>\n<p>Mix everything together to form dough. Form into 1\/2-inch balls and place on cookie sheet.
